ESOL

English Language Acquisition (ELA)

Our English Language Program helps students practice the skills necessary to navigate and participate actively in the workplace and community. Facilitated by experienced instructors in collaboration with trained community volunteers, this small group model incorporates speaking, listening, reading, writing, basic math, employment/career exploration and computer skills.
Lessons are about topics that are important to the learners such as health care, employment, emergencies, consumer issues, housing, children’s education, financial literacy, community participation, and more.  We also help people to prepare for the citizenship interview.

  • We serve beginning Level 1 through advanced Level 6.
  • In-person and virtual options available.
  • Evening classes meet 4 nights per week in Shelton.
  • One-on-one and small group tutoring is available in Thurston and Mason Counties.
