Our 20th anniversary year was marked by a new name appropriate to our growing focus on skills needed by workers, parents and families in the 21st century. Sound Learning describes the work done by students as they change their lives through education and improved literacy - whether it be math skills, reading and writing, or English for Speakers of Other Languages.

Mason County Literacy provides instruction to adults in reading, writing, GED studies, computers, and English language in Mason and Thurston Counties. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to improving literacy and the essential skills needed in today’s world.

Volunteers are an important part of our service delivery, along with a small professional staff.
